Recently, Meryl Streep has accompanied first lady Michelle Obama on a trip to Morocco as part of the Let Girls Learn initiative. In this program, Streep and Mrs. Obama will be discussing the numerous challenges that African women have to deal with on a daily basis, particularly to access to basic education.

This will not be the first time that Michelle Obama and Meryl Streep have worked together, as they teamed up in 2015 to crusade for gender equality in a joint interview for More magazine.
